There is something so soothing about mindless stockinette.
Especially when my other hat project is going like this:
I’m hoping to finish both hats this weekend. Have a great weekend!!!

FO: Just Enough Ruffles
Posted in FOs, Knitting on February 23, 2009 | 2 Comments »
I broke one of my knitting resolutions last week and it felt sooooooooo good! I had told myself I was only going to KNIT FOR MYSELF this year, but after seeing Janet’s version of this scarf, I had to knit one too. It’s a little too “ruffly” for me, though, so this will be shipped off [...]
What I carry :: What I use
Posted in Knitting on February 22, 2009 | 3 Comments »
This little “knitting meme” has been going around Flickr lately and I thought I’d share it here too.
I took some photos of what I carry in my knitting notions bag and then what I actually use regularly. It was interesting to see how many things I carry around for sentimental value or “just in case.” [...]
Slippers for my sweetie

I finally finished T’s slippers and got around to taking FO photos of them in daylight the other day. I actually finished them when he was in the middle of fighting off a pretty nasty cold last weekend, but then they took THREE DAYS to dry after felting (thanks, moist PacNW winters!).
I am suuuuper pleased with [...]
On my birthday
Posted in Daily on February 17, 2009 | 4 Comments »
I feel kind of weird announcing that it’s my birthday today, but whatever. It’s my blog! And it’s my birthday!
I wasn’t really in the mood to make a big to-do out of my birthday this year, so instead I took the day off and treated myself to a spa day today at Habitude [...]
Breakthrough

The first 7 rows on the felted clogs pattern are incredibly complicated (for me, anyway) and are part of the reason I put off knitting another pair for so long. The other morning, though, I woke up with an idea in my mind – I’d write up every section of the pattern on notecards so [...]
On Valentine’s Day

T is sick today so we’ll be spending the day curled up on the couch and I’ll be finishing up his clogs (and Valentine’s Day is usually a low-key affair around here anyway… my birthday is in three days so I’ve always considered that V-Day).
I did a little experimenting and shaped the back cuff with [...]
Bake Sale

We’re having a bake sale at work today for a coworker who was recently diagnosed with cancer (v. sad story – he’s only 28 he has a baby!). In just over a week one of the girls in his dept organized this huge bake sale / raffle / silent auction and has already raised over [...]
It’s a swap!
Posted in FOs, Knitting on February 10, 2009 | 4 Comments »
I participated in my first knitting swap this past fall (a cowl swap! woot!) with some girls I met through Flickr, and seeing as how I’ve gotten to know myself pretty well over the years, I am actually kinda surprised I participated. Because… me? Well, I like to over analyze and freak out about stuff. (This [...]
