Today’s progress

Sadly, this is today’s progress. It was one of those days where we (I) thought we were going to get a TON done, and then everything ended up taking longer than expected. By the time we got up, made breakfast, called around to different Lowe’s to see if they had our panels, reserved [...]

We were originally going to try and go camping this weekend, but we couldn’t decide where to go, and we didn’t want to fight the crowds or traffic, and then we found out from our neighbor that we could start building our fence sooner than previously expected. (I really don’t know the details…. [...]

We walked down to the Edmonds Farmers Market on Saturday to pick up some kettle corn and flowers for a friend’s birthday (the kettle corn was for me… ;) and I spotted this booth full of skirts and bags made out of Amy Butler fabrics (!!!). I nearly screamed with delight when I saw all the [...]

Ultimate Camping List

We’re going camping this weekend to Mt. Rainier (and then to the Morton Loggers Jubilee on Sunday - woot woot!) and as much as I LOVE camping, I HATE packing!!! I totally freeze up and cannot focus on what we need to pack. I realized a couple of camping trips ago that what I needed [...]

Sunday Breakfast

Woke up this morning with a HANKERING for my mom’s peach oven pancake. So I called her up and got the recipe, and then I also found it in my Better Homes & Garden cookbook and it’s also available here. Here are my edits to the pattern… er, recipe:
2 tablespoons melted butter
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 [...]

A couple of years ago I was over at T’s parents’ house and for some reason (not because I didn’t want it, but because I am notorious for losing things) I talked his mom into letting me borrow this cute little sheetcake cookbook that was her beloved (and late) father’s, who was apparently not much of a [...]

Sushi cupcakes

I was lucky enough to be down in LA for my friend Van’s birthday last month. She treated me and a few friends to a delicious, home-cooked meal and then we made these killer sushi cupcakes for dessert. (She got the idea from NotMartha.org.)

These were actually really simple to make. You just need yellow cake [...]
