Low-impact packaging

(Can’t you tell a knitter wrapped this?)
Growing up my mom always meticulously opened her gifts, using scissors to slice off the tape at the seams, gently folding it when she was done, and then she’d re-use that wrapping paper for years and years. My brother and I revolted by tearing into our presents [...]

To the one who started it all

I’ve been doing more frogging than knitting lately. Both of my WIPs (Monkey socks and EZ’s February Baby Sweater) are lace-based, and I have just not had the concentration for either of them lately. So I was going to post some photos of what I had done to each of them, and how I [...]

Best! Weekend! Ever!

Oh my my my did I ever need this weekend. It was crazy busy and filled with good stuff. Friday night we went out with some coworkers and met at The Sloop, one of my favorite hangouts, just because you can get a beer the size of your head…

Happy Birthday to me!

I celebrated my 29th birthday on Saturday night with great friends, good food, long laughs, and TONS of Pictionary.
Then T and I spent all day Sunday snuggled on the couch playing our new Wii. What a perfect weekend.

Koigu yarn and “Knitting on the Road” from Heather. (I can’t wait to knit these up!!!)

Lou Malnati’s pizza [...]

Family history

My uncle randomly sent me this bit of family history in an email this morning and I thought I’d post it here. Not to get too heavy, but my paternal grandfather suffered a stroke the year I was born and then passed away when I was still really little, so I never knew him.  So I really appreciated getting this [...]
