So, my work got cancelled today (woot!) and we actually got out of the house and had lunch at a local diner (double woot!) but then we spent all afternoon SHOVELING OUR ROOF.
I didn’t even know this was something people did, but apparently when you have a house built in the 1950s with a flat [...]

WTF? SNOW?
Posted in House on December 21, 2008 | 5 Comments »
Here’s the thing. I grew up in Chicago and then lived in Madison, WI for a year after graduating college and part of the reason I LEFT the midwest and moved to Seattle was because of the snow. I just got sick of dealing with it. And it usually doesn’t snow too much out here, [...]

This is the only decoration we’re putting up this year. It’s a little fiber optic tree decorated with shotgun shell lights we received as an early Christmas gift.
Beyond awesome.

I know I have been a bit of a ghost lately, but I wanted to pop in and say Happy Halloween!

Spooky, eh?
Today’s progress

Sadly, this is today’s progress. It was one of those days where we (I) thought we were going to get a TON done, and then everything ended up taking longer than expected. By the time we got up, made breakfast, called around to different Lowe’s to see if they had our panels, reserved [...]

We were originally going to try and go camping this weekend, but we couldn’t decide where to go, and we didn’t want to fight the crowds or traffic, and then we found out from our neighbor that we could start building our fence sooner than previously expected. (I really don’t know the details…. [...]
Finally, a non-knitting-related post!

I think I overloaded WordPress. Let’s try this again!
I oscillate between making this solely a knitting blog and making this MY blog (thus writing about knitting and other crafty stuff I do, and then all the random miscellaneous stuff that happens to me in life). But the problem with making it just a knitting blog [...]
My new favorite knitting spot

T recently built an addition to our deck. It’s quite a bit shadier than the main deck and the perfect place for evening knitting!

The sunset was breathtaking last night.
Here you can just make out the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry:
What I call jokingly call “God-light” (from The Bridges of Madison County):
And some purple mountain’s majesty:
Finally, the view before all the zooming and cropping (from our front porch):

As I mentioned earlier we (he) cut a tree down this past weekend. This has been something we’ve both been wanting to do for YEARS now, but I don’t think either of us were really ready to take the plunge until just recently.
When I first moved in to the house, this tree was more of [...]
