Just in time for spring!

Just in time to celebrate spring, I have a boatload of big bulky knits to show off!
First up, I finally got my hands on some Mmmmalabrigo (just in time to bid adieu to Malabrigo March!) and I was originally going to knit up a quick rollbrim hat for me (using my standard recipe). But once I knit it up, [...]

Down to the wire

I didn’t think I could do it, but Sea Baby is done (minus the leggings and hat, of course! (I didn’t like the leggings and I didn’t have enough yarn for the hat… still kinda bummed about that)). I basically started this last Saturday and gave myself a day to complete each of the 6 [...]

I probably won’t have another FO to show off for a while, so I wanted to take a minute and revel in these. First, I finished my Basic Sock over the weekend! I probably would’ve finished sooner, but I didn’t listen to the Yarn Harlot. See, I originally started the toe decreases when she suggested, but then, in my [...]

Oh hell yah!

That’s what I said when I finally finished this thing.
When I posted yesterday about being nearly done with my Baby Bobbi Bear, I was only about half right. I still had to knit up his ears, sew them on, and embroider his face. And this ended up taking WAY longer than I would have liked. [...]

Blocked and DONE!

I can finally, finally, finally call my stripey raglan sweater an FO! I blocked it Thursday night and it was dry by Saturday, and then it was finally sunny on Sunday so we took advantage of the weather and snapped a few shots.

Honestly, though, I’m conflicted about what to write about this sweater. On the [...]

I wore my sweater to work today!!!!!!! I finished redoing the cuffs this morning (I shot out of bed at 6am and just wanted to knitknitknit!) and I just HAD to wear it. I also wanted to give it a “road test” before washing and blocking it, to see if I had to do any [...]

It was a very good year.

For knitting, at least. I didn’t realize how much I knit in 2007 until I put this little mosaic together. It feels great to see all my projects nestled together, and to reflect on how many I actually FINISHED!
I started this year resolved to knit ONLY for myself, to finish what I started, and also [...]

Merry Christmas, Ollie!!!

My mom recently adopted a dog, Oliver (named after the famous orphan). This is HUGE news. My mom has ALWAYS wanted a dog. Her husband thought he was allergic (since he’s allergic to most everything else), but then he recently had some tests done and found out he wasn’t, and they went out and found [...]

Well, winter is most definitely here, and I haven’t felt any serious effects of seasonal depression yet! :) I think that’s partly due to the fact that I’m really trying to APPRECIATE this time of year (besides the fact that I can’t take any decent photos). I’m also focusing on the fact that the days will [...]

3rd time’s a charm!

I actually HAVE been knitting lately. A lot, actually. But nothing has been going right. I’m knitting a scarf that’s the wrong color, slippers that might be WAY TOO BIG (even after felting), a hat that’s TOO SMALL, and I’ve been fixing this sweater that I actually thought I finished LAST YEAR.
Here’s a photo of [...]
