Probably the dorkiest thing I’ve ever done.

I posted this ad on (the Vancouver) Craigslist last night:

And guess what! I got 3 responses in like half an hour. All from fellow Mini-Egg addicts (I swear they put crack in them). I actually OD’d on these a couple years ago, so I haven’t really been buying them in recent years, but after hearing that the Canadian ones are EVEN BETTER than the American kind, I have to try them!!!

    HI Ness:
You are not doing anything dorky. If you like the eggs, and you have someone willing to send them to you, go for it. It just goes to show that you’re not alone.

I didn’t know these were your favorite too! I picked up a bag yesterday at Target and introduced Trevor to them. He didn’t seem too excited about it. Maybe he’s more familiar with the Canadian ones 🙂

I’ve heard all candy is better in Canadia.

Apparently most processed food products in the US use High Fructose Corn Syrup instead of pure cane sugar. It costs too much to use real sugar. It’s a bit of a conspiracy, but basically lobbyists from the US farm industry convinced the government in the 80’s to impose heavy tariffs on cane sugar imports. The tariffs are large enough that cane sugar is more expensive than corn syrup and so everyone uses home grown corn syrup!

In Canada sugar is cheap, so candy and soda there is made with sugar.

    Check it out …

    How’s that for dorky?!

    Damn the corn industry.

(…she says as she contemplates buying a bio-diesel ready car….)
