My yarn for Rusted Root arrived today. That was fast! Turns out the yarn store is in Spokane, WA, just on the other side of the Cascades… So I guess I still kind of am supporting my LYS. šŸ™‚

I took some photos of the yarn cakes tonight just as the sun was setting and (I think) the photos turned out GREAT!

I just heard from an old high school friend today (through MySpace) and she asked me how long I’d “doing” photography. Aw. I still am a total novice and actually just took this photo on auto-pilot (sans flash) but I do feel like I’m learning, bit by bit, and I absolutely love practicing. šŸ™‚ I guess it’s just one of those things that just takes patience, and practice.

Speaking of patience… it is taking everything I have not to cast on for Rusted Root! I told myself I won’t start it until I finish my Jaywalkers and T’s fingerless gloves, though, so now I’m even more determined to finish those. I have SNB next Wednesday, so hopefully I’ll have at least one new thing to show off.

p.s. That rust color was in the sky tonight too…

Beautiful photos – the colours are spectacular.

The sky photo is just amazing. Must be a sign that you gotta cast on. šŸ™‚

    Gorgeous, V!

I think you’ve got all the elements at your fingertips to take good photos — a spot that gets natural light so you can shoot sans flash, cooperative models (yarn cakes – heehee) and patience. I love all the shots on that table.

Oh — meant to tell you — you can swatch without cheating. šŸ˜‰

  4. Pretty yarn.
And that’s an amazing photo of the sky — those clouds!

That’s some seriously gorgeous yarn! I’ve been eying the Rusted Root, but I was wondering if it’s knit flat or in the round.

  6. funessa says:

It is knit in the round. (Yay!)
