Knitten

Writing about my knitting to-do list the other day reminded me that I still hadn’t made the felted kitten I had planned to make last year! I had originally planned to make the Fiber Trends version, I even bought the pattern and everything, but I just never got around to making it. But then yesterday, a series of coincidences led me to this guy.

I randomly found the pattern through Flickr (I don’t even remember what I was originally searching for!), I found some old wool and fun fur my grandmother had given me when I was tearing my house up to find my lost sock yarn, I had a little nubbin of pink felt from some sweaters I’d recently felted (to make another recycled sweater blanket), and I found an old Glue Gun stick at the bottom of an old knitting bag (which I used to attach the eyes and nose).

This pattern is soooo simple and straightforward. It’s knit up in 3 pieces, then you just sew them up, stuff them, and sew them together.

Here's what Knitten looks like after T gets his hands on her. by you.

The tail is even shaped by short rows, so it has a little curl to it!

The tail is shaped by short rows - GENIUS! by you.

I just love it!!! Trixie, though, is still skeptical.
